SUMBER SEJARAH

a. Pengertian Sumber Sejarah

Sejarah dimulai dari cerita-cerita rakyat atau legenda yang mampu mengungkapkan peristiwa pada masa lampau, walaupun penuh dengan berbagai mitos yang harus diteliti lebih lanjut agar dapat digunakan sebagai sumber sejarah. Masyarakat dahulu memang memberikan informasi sejarah secara turun temurun dan mereka menganggap benar apa yang telah mereka terima dari nenek moyangnya yang terpancar dari peninggalan-peninggalan di sekitar tempat tinggalnya. Oleh karena itu, untuk mengungkapkan kembali tidak mungkin dilakukan tanpa sumber yang memadai, artinya sumber yang mendukung sehingga mampu mendekati kebenaran suatu peristiwa sejarah.

Procedure of teaching reading

In teaching reading, there are 3 main stages in the procedure of teaching reading there are:

1. Pre-Reading activities

Pre-Reading activities usually done before the teacher gave the text. Through asking question or showing picture related to the material. For instance: the material is about feelings. Teachers show the picture which show feeling (confident, angry, disappointed, thankful, surprised, confused, etc).

2. While Reading Activities

While the students reading read the text, student should have to answer the question. The question usually in a form of wh-question which suitable with the text.

3. Post reading activities

Post reading activities usually done by the students after they finish Pre and while reading activities. Students asked to retell their partner what they have read and work in pairs

1.1 Latar Belakang

Berbicara yang akan dapat meningkatkan kualitas eksistensi (keberadaan) di tengah-tengah orang lain, bukanlah sekadar berbicara, tetapi berbicara yang menarik (atraktif), bernilai informasi (informatif), menghibur (rekreatif), dan berpengaruh (persuasif). Dengan kata lain, manusia mesti berbicara berdasarkan seni berbicara yang dikenal dengan istilahretorika. Retorika adalah seni berkomunikasi secara lisan yang dilakukan oleh seseorang kepada sejumlah orang secara langsung bertatap muka. Oleh karena itu, istilah retorika seringkali disamakan dengan istilah pidato.

HUBUNGAN BAHASA DAN BUDAYA

Chaer (2003:30) menyebutkan bahwa bahasa adalah alat verbal untuk komunikasi. Sebelumnya (1994), ia menegaskan bahwa bahasa sebagai “suatu lambang bunyi yang bersifat arbitrer yang digunakan oleh sekelompok anggota masyarakat untuk berinteraksi dan mengidentifikasi diri”.

Bahasa bukan hanya alat komunikasi. Lebih dari itu, kedua pakar linguistik ini menyebutkan bahwa dalam penggunaannya bahasa (language in use) merupakan bagian dari pesan dalam komunikasi. Dalam bahasa Brown dan Yule, hal ini disebut dengan istilah ‘transaksional’ dan ‘interpersonal’. Artinya, ada kebiasaan dan kebudayaan dalam menggunakan bahasa sebagai media/alat berkomunikasi.

Ciri–ciri bahasa manusia

Secara tegas dapat dibedakan bahwa manusia menggunakan bahasa sedangkan hewan melakukan komunikasi. Komunikasi hewan hanya terjadi dengan sesamanya serta digunakan sebagai upaya untuk mengungkap situasi internal(takut, kesiapan untuk kawin) atau merespon stiuasi eksternal (bahaya, makanan). Sebagai contoh, induk ayam mengeluarkan bunyi-bunyi tertentu dan segera saja anak-anak ayam menghampiri induknya. Dengan cara menari-nari lebah dapat memberitahu lebah lain bahwa ada sumber makanan; berapa banyak, dimana sumbernya dan berapa jaraknya. Jenis kera tertentu, dapat memberitahu apabila ada bahaya mengancam, dengan cara berbeda jika bahaya itu berasal dari luar, elang atau leopard.

It is important to note that the writer of literature is not tied to fact in quite the same way as the historian, the economist or the scientist, whose studies are absolutely based on what has actually happened, or on what actually does happen, in the world of reality.

An ESL lerners may be able to pict up alot of English naturally without learning to read or write, but is difficult for an Asian EFL learner to pick up spoken English in this way. But Korzybski was the first to make a scientific model for studying semantics .Korzybski began to describe all entities and reality by giving them labels .
