1. Buka Terminal dan Ekstrak file tar.gz dengan perintah berikut :
$ tar xzvf  contoh.tar.gz  ( nama file : contoh.tar.gz )

2. Kemudiam masuk ke dalam Direktori hasil Ekstrak dengan perintah berikut :
$ cd contoh/ ( nama direktori : contoh )

3. Kita bisa cari file README atau INSTALL yang merupakan petunjuk Installasi dengan perintah berikut :
$ cat README
atau
$ cat INSTALL

4. Secara umum installasi file berekstensi file tersebut dengan perintah berikut :
$ ./configure
$ make

5. Masuk ke root dengan perintah berikut :
$ sudo su

6. Ketik perintah berikut :
# make install
